Utilities should serve Nevadans and not Wall Street investors and giant tech companies. I have been fighting against the proposed “demand charge” for months because it will unfairly raise our power bills. I will take this fight to the legislature to make sure Nevada utilities are held accountable to Nevadan families! 

Nevadan families should get a fair deal buying a house or renting a place to call home. We shouldn’t have to compete against out-of-state investors who have bought up over 25% of single-family homes in Las Vegas. This is driving up rents while locking local residents out of homeownership. I will put Nevadan families first as we tackle the rising costs of housing in our community.

With my kids in the Clark County School District, I see the challenges faced by our teachers and school staff every day. I will fight for more school funding so our children will have more opportunities to learn and to participate in after-school activities and programs.

Everyone deserves affordable healthcare so no one is one medical emergency away from financial ruin. As the chairperson of the union’s Healthcare Affordability Task Force, I have had an inside look at the many challenges driving up healthcare costs in Southern Nevada. Hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, insurance companies, and private equity investors are driving healthcare costs for all of us. I will stand up to these corporations and fight for better healthcare for Nevadan families. 

No one should have to work two, three or even more jobs just to make ends meet. We need to diversify our economy and fight for good jobs so we can all benefit when businesses and industries grow and expand in Nevada.
